spoil
The file manager of milk: tabs and up to four tiled panes, drag and drop, archives, and a built-in media viewer and terminal, all wearing milk's look. Made in Odin.
About
spoil is the file manager of milk: a small, fast file browser that opens with Super+E and wears milk's look, taking its colours, fonts, icons and the bar's shapes from milk.json. It knows milk's own folders, such as the per-area shortcut folders and the wallpapers, and is built on milk's own X11 layer, configuration loader and icon-theme loader.
Features
- Up to four panes side by side, tiling style like milk's window manager, each with its own tabs, path bar and file view. Every tab keeps its own folder, history, selection, view mode and search.
- Drag and drop between panes and onto folders, tabs, sidebar places and breadcrumbs, with rubber-band selection. Files move on the same file system and copy across file systems, as background jobs.
- Archives: compress to .zip, .tar.gz, .tar.zst or .7z, and extract without overwriting anything.
- A built-in viewer: pictures, videos and audio open inside the pane, played by mpv embedded in spoil's window.
- An embedded terminal: "open terminal here" (F4) opens Alacritty in a column next to the panes.

./spoil [folder]milk's installer fetches and builds spoil automatically. It also runs under other window managers, without the Alacritty and mpv integration. Released under the MIT License.
